The Big 1-8.. FINALLY

At long last I FINALLY turned 18 last week, on the 20th December... It was a big day for the family, now that thats us all finally, legally, aged to drink.
I got told I was going out for dinner to my favourite local restaurant, when infact, while I had been at work the past few days, my family had organised a surprise party, and decorated the whole garage, and invited about fifty of my family and friends around!! I was unbelievably shocked, and pleased, cause lets be serious, everyone loves a surprise:)

Not only was the party a surprise, but I was also unsure of what I was actually going to get for my 18th Birthday, and I was IN LOVE, when i whipped these Beauties out the box, they are from a website called prettysmallshoes.com due to me being 'petite'.. and having small feet, only a size uk2/eu 34... finding high, fashionable heels is a challenge...

Beautiful......

Hope you are in love just as much as I am?

I also got, Money, Drink, More money, Jewellery, More drink... Concert Ticket... and Money:)

Skirt Project

A couple of post's ago I mentioned the shirt that Hannah Madden and I made for Womenswear, And thought I would let you all know we got an A, which we were both Soooo happy about. Woooooo!!
Having then changed partners we had to visit an exhibition on "Tony Cragg: Sculptures and Drawings". The exhibition was surprising interesting, and I was excited to look at the way sculptures could inspire me to design a skirt.
We had three, Yes THREE, weeks to research, design, make the skirt, and produce a final photograph of the skirt suitabe for i-D magazine.
Last project my photoshoot never got as high a grade as i had hoped, and i feel this was due to the lack of text, so we chose to make it like the front cover of i-D magazine..
i-D Inspired Magazine, photoshoot..

Hope you like my skirt and photoshoot... Comment&follow, thank you
Additional photo's from the same shoot are to follow..

Shirt Design

As you may know, I am a first year student at Heriot-watt University. It is a common first year for all fashion students, So even though i am doing Fashion Communication. I still get the chance to try my hand at; Fashion Womenswear, Menswear, Marketing & Retailing, and Communication. along with additional classes such as; Visual Presentation, Contempary and Contextual Studies.
During our first semester we are doing Womenswear, and thought you might want to see what my partner and I got up to... We had to research, design, and finally make in the sewing workshop. The shirt had to be inspired by Scottish heritage, and all shirts had to be in Navy blue!

Here are a few we considered...

This was the Photograph we finally chose for our promotion page: We had to select a high street brand to market our shirt for, and the page had to fit in to 'i-D' magazine...

Final Advertisment Page.

Hope you enjoyed,
Be sure to follow for an update on our new project, and bits and bobs about my life..

Fashion Show

On Tuesday, my uni friends and I went along to a Fashion Show in Edinburgh, Run by OHH FASHION. Aswell as visiting the 'Tony Cragg Exhibiton' at the Scottish National Gallery of Mordern Art, in edinburgh - which by the way, is NOT the gallery close to the bus station. (I found this out after my 40minute treck to find it)

The Fashion Show doors opened at 7 and the show finished about 9.45.. though by the time we got the bus back to GalaLand it was around 12.30 and with class the next day It was a long day but definetly work it, especially as it was my first fashion show, since being an official fashion student..
It was an excillent experience with local designers and stores around Edinburgh, and although i wasnt a 'dresser' backstage, like some of my university friends go the chance to do, I still managed to get the goss on the behind the scene antics. - All in all an excellent day out.

Thought id do a post with some of the pictures i managed to get, along with me FINALLY finding the Exhibition, this was an accomplshment.
Now theres nothing wrong with windswept hair - the treak took it out of me..

Trip to LONDON

While im here, i thought id post about my trip i took to London at the end of July.
My friend and I had decided that we were going to visit London before going of to different University's, and since i had never been to London, though always wanted to go(I know, shocking, I used to be ashamed to say it) so I thought it would be a great idea. Having saved up my pennies,
We booked the hotel and the train, all the way from Scotland, to London Euston. I was overly excited to finally get to see the sights that ive only ever seen from movies or television programmes.
**Oxford Street, Hyde Park, SHOPPING, Wicked(the musical), Bus Tour..**
We done it all.. and here are some pictures from my trip.

Underground. I LOVE THE RUSH OF LONDON

The views I'd been longing to see... after my 4hour journey.

Uni Project

So i havent posted in a while, still getting used to uni life(cooking, cleaning, general life skills) aswell as the work load.. But ive managed to find time to make my second post - i promise ill get into it eventually.

So the week before I moved in, I got an e-mail setting us a project, which we were to hand in the first week of the semester. We basically had to interview ourselves and take a picture and present it in the styles of i-D magazine. I had to hand in my final layout, so I am unable to post my page as a finished sheet, though once i get my magazine page back i will be sure to post it.
I hope after reading this you will know a little more about me.
And hopefully like it!
